The world’s heaviest person, recognised by Guinness World Records in 1978, is Jon Brower Minnoch. His total weight of 635 kg (1400 pounds) was more than three times the weight of a typical person, who is roughly 500 pounds or more than two huge cows! It’s been 40 years since one record has been unbeaten. Jon Brower Minnoch held the title of the heaviest individual in history.

He entered the University Hospital in Seattle in 1978 because of his failing heart due to his weight. The task of transporting him to the hospital required more than a dozen firemen and a specially designed stretcher. To move him onto the special bed, which was essentially two hospital beds put together, required 13 nurses. His doctor guessed that his weight was close to 1,400 pounds, but because of his sheer bulk, he was unable to be weighed. They further claimed that his significant fluid retention, which accounted for about 900 pounds of his 1,400-pound weight, was the cause of his edoema. Horrified by his colossal dimensions, the doctor prescribed a rigid diet with a maximum daily calorie intake of 1,200. The diet was working for a while, and within a year, he had lost 924 pounds, down to 476. Back then, it was the largest reported weight loss among humans.

After he shattered the world record for the heaviest weight in 1978, he married a woman named Jeannette and then set the record for the largest weight differential between a husband and wife. While his weight was over 1,400 pounds, his wife’s was only 110 pounds. Following their union, the couple had two children. As a result of his stature, his long life was a short one as well. Jon Brower Minnoch, aged 41 years and 798 pounds, died shortly before his 42nd birthday. Despite his obesity, his edoema had proven impossible to manage, and his death eventually resulted from this complication.

Khalid’s record-breaking weight was discovered in August 2013, when he was found to be the heaviest living person and the second heaviest of all time, behind Jon Brower Minnoch. At the time, he weighed 610 kilograms (1,340 pounds) and was completely unable to perform simple tasks by himself. Standing only 5’7″ and weighing over 600 kg, Khalid’s body was out of proportion. This record was set by his BMI of 204, the highest we’ve ever seen.

The Saudi King in 2013 sent Khalid to his home to be treated for obesity. He was sent to the palace in Riyadh for treatment, and he was not allowed to leave for two years because his residence had been demolished. Khalid shed a total of 320 kg in the first six months of his treatment (710 Ib). Doctors in Saudi Arabia cut more than half of his weight. He was seen in 2016 using a walker to assist him in walking. He’s now 68 kg (150 pounds), a loss of more than 540kg (1100+ pounds), and he leads a normal life in Saudi.

Manuel was born in Monterrey, Mexico on June 11th, 1965. He was the world’s heaviest man for a time, holding the Guinness world record as the world’s fattest man since 2006 until he lost so much weight that he no longer qualified.

As Manuel Uribe struggled to cope with his weight gain, his wife requested for a divorce, which plunged him into a deep depression as he spent excessive amounts of money on physicians and diets but only saw his weight increase. According to Uribe’s mother, his second marriage, which was short-lived, terminated three-and-a-half years before his death in 2014.

Juan Pedro Franco, a Mexican native, was the world’s heaviest man. According to Guinness World Records, he set a world record weight of 595 kilogrammes (1,310 pounds) in October 2016. Guinness World Records lists Juan Pedro Franco as the heaviest living human.

He couldn’t leave his bed because of his health issues. In addition, he was diabetic, had high blood pressure, and had a blocked airway. According to doctors, he was in grave danger of dying if he didn’t lose weight quickly. It was at this point that Franco decided to undergo gastric bypass surgery on both of his stomachs. He had shed hundreds of pounds through severe dieting, frequent exercise, and gastric bypass surgery over the course of several years. The 36-year-old is weighing 208 kilogrammes right now.

Yager was unable to stand or walk, as is the case with many highly obese individuals, since her muscles were not strong enough to support her, owing in part to muscle atrophy from lack of exercise.
