Early Jurassic
The Early Jurassic Epoch (in chronostratigraphy, the Lower Jurassic Series) is the first of the Jurassic Period’s three epochs. The Early Jurassic period begins immediately after the Triassic-Jurassic extinction catastrophe (201.3 Ma) and ends at the commencement of the Middle Jurassic period (174.1 Ma).
