Ruhana the Orangutan in Pictures

In early December 2025, the Memphis Zoo welcomed Ruhana, a critically endangered Sumatran orangutan born via a rare C-section. The delivery was supported by a specialized medical team, including human OB-GYN and neonatal experts, to ensure the health of both the baby and her mother, Jahe.
Ruhana stands as a powerful symbol of his legacy and hope for her species’ survival. She is currently bonding with her mother behind the scenes and is not yet on public display.
