Raya the Orangutan in Pictures

Raya is a critically endangered Sumatran orangutan born on January 11, 2026, to her mother, Tara, and father, Tengku. Her birth is a major milestone for the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and international conservation efforts, as she is the first of her species born in North America this year. Currently, she is bonding behind the scenes with her family and is expected to make her public debut as the weather warms up this spring.
