Mobi the Gorilla in Pictures

Mobi, a female western lowland gorilla born on January 2, 2024, at Prague Zoo, is the daughter of Duni and granddaughter of the famous Moja. She was the first baby born in the zoo’s Dja Reservation pavilion, quickly becoming a star as she explored, played, and bonded with her family, including her father, silverback Kisumu. Named “Mobi” through a public poll—meaning “heiress” or “successor”—she symbolizes continuity in her family line. By her first birthday in January 2025, Mobi was confidently moving through her enclosure, eating some solid foods, and delighting visitors with her playful personality, representing both family bonds and conservation efforts for wild gorillas.
