Kofi the Gorilla in Pictures

Kofi, the critically endangered Western Lowland Gorilla, was born at Belfast Zoo on October 8, 2021, to mother Kamili and father Gugas, making him the troop’s youngest member. He is healthy and continuing to thrive as a vital part of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) to safeguard the species. Recent updates confirm he is growing up well within the family group, although the troop experienced a loss in January 2024 with the passing of the UK’s oldest gorilla, Delilah, who had acted as a loving grandparent figure to him.
