About Zungu
Zungu was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on March 11, 2016. He lived to 13 years and 7 months of age.
Born at Zoo Basel on August 4, 2002, he was captive-born and spent his entire life at the Swiss zoo.
His parents were Joas and Kisoro. Tragically, he was euthanized due to a tapeworm infection that could not be successfully treated.
