ZAM-88-01

ZAM-88-01 was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who was stillborn on April 23, 1988, at Zoo Aquarium de Madrid. He died on the same day he was born due to stillbirth.

Born to parents Nadia and Bioko at Zoo Aquarium de Madrid, he was captive-born but tragically did not survive birth. His brief existence was confined to a single day at the Madrid zoo.

While his life was heartbreakingly short, his record remains part of the conservation efforts to understand and protect Western Lowland Gorillas in captivity.
