Western Lowland Gorilla at Mefou Primate Sanctuary, born 2026.
Yeba is a male Western Lowland Gorilla living at Mefou Primate Sanctuary. Born in the wild in Africa on June 4, 2026, he represents one of the critically endangered Western Lowland Gorillas.
Both his mother and father were wild gorillas, making Yeba a wild-born individual rather than captive-bred. This wild heritage connects him directly to the natural populations that conservation efforts work to protect.
Yeba arrived at Mefou Primate Sanctuary in November 2004, where he has made his home. The sanctuary provides care for primates that cannot be returned to the wild, offering them a safe environment while supporting broader conservation goals for his subspecies.
