Xara

Xara is a female Western Lowland Gorilla deceased (died 2007-01-03). She lived to 38 years of age.

Born at Congo (wild-caught).

Parents: Wild and Wild.

Her life in captivity began at the Royal Zoological Society of Antwerp in November 1970, where she remained until March 1976. She then moved to the Royal Rotterdam Zoological Gardens, calling it home for nearly three decades until March 2004. Her final years were spent at Bioparc Fuengirola, where she passed away from breast cancer.
