About Wima
Wima was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on September 3, 2010. She lived to approximately 11 years of age.
Born on January 9, 1999 at Zoo Basel, she was captive-born to parents Joas and Kisoro.
In March 2010, Wima was transferred from Zoo Basel to Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno, where she spent her final months. She died there from hidatidosis, a parasitic disease.
