Utonde

Utonde was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who lived a tragically brief life. Born on January 21, 1979, at Parc Zool gic de Barcelona, she survived less than one month.

Her parents were Bimvili and the famous Copito de Nieve. As a captive-born gorilla, she represented hope for conservation breeding programs, though her time was cut short.

Sadly, Utonde died on February 18, 1979, at just 28 days old due to intestinal problems. She spent her entire short life at her birth zoo in Barcelona. Her brief existence reminds us of the fragility of these magnificent apes, even in captive care.
