About Tamiela
Tamiela was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on July 14, 2008. She lived to 11 years of age.
Born on June 26, 1997, at Howletts Wild Animal Park, she was captive-born to parents Mouila and Bitam.
In May 2005, she transferred to Espace Zoologique St Martin la Plaine, where she lived until her death. She died from a bacterial infection at the age of 11.
