Eastern Lowland (Grauer's) Gorilla at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education, born 2026.
Serufuli is a female Eastern Lowland (Grauer’s) Gorilla living at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education. Born in the wild in Congo, she came into human care and spent her early years at Gorilla Doctors Kinigi from 2005 to 2011.
Both her parents were wild gorillas. As an Eastern Lowland Gorilla, she represents one of the most endangered great ape subspecies, making her care and protection especially important for conservation efforts.
She has been at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education since July 2011, where she continues to thrive under expert care. Eastern Lowland Gorillas face severe threats in the wild, so her protection contributes to the survival of this critically endangered subspecies.
