PRA-13-01

PRA-13-01 was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who tragically died on February 24, 2013, the same day she was born. She never had the chance to experience life beyond her first moments.

Born at Zoo Praha through captive breeding, she was the daughter of Kamba and Richard. Her brief existence ended during what appears to have been a difficult birth requiring cesarean intervention.

Her story, though heartbreakingly short, represents the challenges faced in gorilla conservation breeding programs. Not every birth results in success, and her case highlights the medical complexities involved in caring for these endangered great apes.
