Platon

Platon was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on August 17, 2008. He lived to 36 years of age.

Born in Gabon in March 1972, he was wild-caught before arriving at Espace Zoologique St Martin la Plaine in September 1976. Both his parents were wild gorillas.

He spent over three decades at the French zoo, from 1976 until his death in 2008. His death resulted from complications involving his kidneys, lungs, and heart.
