About Pinga

Pinga is a female Eastern Lowland (Grauer’s) Gorilla living at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education. Born on June 4, 2026, she came into the world in Congo with wild parents.

Her early life began at Gorilla Doctors Kinigi starting October 10, 2005, where she remained until July 23, 2011. She then transferred to her present home at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education on July 23, 2011.

Both her mother and father were wild gorillas. This Eastern Lowland subspecies represents one of the most endangered gorilla populations in the world, making her presence in conservation programs especially important for the species’ future.
