Ndengue

Ndengue was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on February 6, 1997. She lived to 34 years of age.

Born in Equatorial Guinea in 1963, she was wild-caught rather than born in captivity. Her parents were both wild gorillas.

She spent her captive years at Parc Zoològic de Barcelona, where she also passed away. Born on January 1, 1963, Ndengue represented her subspecies during a critical period for gorilla conservation efforts.
