Muni

Muni was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on April 9, 1976. He lived to 12 years of age.

Born in Guinea in 1964, he was wild-caught rather than born in captivity. Both his parents were wild gorillas.

Muni spent his captive life at Parc Zoològic de Barcelona, where he died from intestinal cancer. His short life reflects the challenges faced by wild-caught gorillas during that era of zoo management.
