Lobo

Lobo was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on December 4, 2015. She lived to 42 years of age.

Born in Cameroon on June 4, 1973, she was wild-caught as an infant. Both her parents were wild gorillas.

Lobo spent most of her life at Apenheul Primate Park in the Netherlands, arriving there in February 1975 when she was less than two years old. She lived there for over three decades before a brief transfer to Gaia Zoo in early 2007. After just three weeks, she returned to Apenheul where she remained until her death. She died from severe gastroenteritis at age 42.
