About Kishi
Kishi was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on August 1, 2014. Born on August 3, 1988, she lived to 25 years of age.
Born at Howletts Wild Animal Park, she was captive-born to parents Mushie and Kijo. Her life included transfers between Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park over the years.
In 2013, she joined the Gorilla Protection Project at Bat k Plateau before being released into Bat k Plateau National Park on June 26, 2014. Tragically, she died just over a month later following a fight with a wild silverback.
