Kighoma

Kighoma is a male Eastern Lowland (Grauer’s) Gorilla living at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education. Born in the wild in Congo on June 4, 2026, he represents the critically endangered Grauer’s subspecies.

Both his parents were wild gorillas. As a wild-born gorilla, he brings valuable genetics to conservation efforts for his subspecies.

His care began with Gorilla Doctors Goma in May 2009, where he spent nearly a year receiving specialized attention. In April 2010, he transferred to Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education, where he continues to thrive in an environment dedicated to gorilla welfare and education.
