Kiazi Kitamu

Kiazi Kitamu was a female Western Lowland Gorilla, born on June 9, 1998 at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. She was captive‑born to mother Tufani and father Mimbo.

She spent over thirteen years at her birth institution before being transferred to the Gladys Porter Zoo on October 19, 2011. The move helped maintain genetic diversity in the managed breeding program for her subspecies.

Kiazi died on August 20, 2016 at Gladys Porter Zoo, reaching 18 years of age. The cause of death was not recorded in the available data.
