Kessala †

Kessala † is a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on February 1, 2006. She lived to approximately 17 years and 8 months of age.

Born in Africa on June 4, 1988, she was wild-caught rather than born in captivity.

Parents: Wild and Wild.

She spent most of her life at Centre de Recherches M dicales Franceville from October 1988 until July 2001, before her final years at Projet Gorille Fernan-Vaz where she passed away.
