About Kalonge

Kalonge is a female Eastern Lowland (Grauer’s) Gorilla living at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education. Born in Congo on June 4, 2026, both her mother and father were wild gorillas.

Her care began at Rehabilitation des Primates de Lwiro on March 1, 2014, where she stayed until March 13, 2014. She was then transferred to Senkwekwe Orphan Mountain Gorilla Center, where she lived from March 13, 2014 until July 23, 2015.

Since July 23, 2015, she has made her home at Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education. Her story represents the dedicated conservation efforts to support Eastern Lowland gorillas from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
