Kabibe

Kabibe was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died tragically young on November 7, 2014. She lived for approximately 1 year and 4 months.

Born at San Francisco Zoological Society on July 17, 2013, she was captive-born to parents Nneka and OJ. Her entire short life was spent at the San Francisco zoo.

Her death was caused by closing under a hydraulic gate, a devastating accident that ended her life far too early. She never had the opportunity to mature or contribute to her species’ conservation efforts.
