Jackie

Jackie was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on February 21, 1972. Born in the wild in Guinea, he was later brought into captivity.

Both his parents were wild gorillas. He spent his time in captivity at the Parc Zoològic de Barcelona, where he also passed away.

The cause of death was listed as precessus virique inconnu. His life represents the early era of gorilla conservation efforts when wild-caught animals were more commonly brought into zoos.
