Gadi

Gadi was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on January 16, 1997. She lived to 24 years of age.

Born in the wild in Gabon on June 4, 1972, she was wild-caught rather than born in captivity. Both her parents were wild gorillas.

Gadi spent her captive life at Zoo Aquarium de Madrid, arriving there on July 1, 1976, when she was just four years old. She remained at the Madrid zoo for over twenty years until her death. Tragically, she died during stillbirth, losing her life while attempting to give birth.
