FRA-15-02 † was a Western Lowland Gorilla who lived for just two days in September 2015. Born on September 15, 2015, at Frankfurt Zoo, this young gorilla passed away on September 17, 2015.

The brief life began and ended at Frankfurt Zoo, where both parents Dian and Viatu were part of the breeding program. As a captive-born gorilla, FRA-15-02 † represented the ongoing conservation efforts for Western Lowland Gorillas in managed care.

Though the time was tragically short, every birth in captive Western Lowland Gorilla populations contributes valuable knowledge to conservation breeding programs working to protect this critically endangered subspecies.
