Fra-15-01

Fra-15-01 was a Western Lowland Gorilla born at Frankfurt Zoo on July 2, 2015. Tragically, they lived only seven days before passing away on July 9, 2015.

Born in captivity at Frankfurt Zoo, Fra-15-01 was the offspring of mother Shira and father Viatu. The young gorilla spent their entire brief life at Frankfurt Zoo.

Fra-15-01’s short life represents the challenges that can face newborn gorillas, even in carefully managed zoo environments. Their parents, Shira and Viatu, were part of Frankfurt Zoo’s Western Lowland Gorilla breeding program.
