Congo † was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died tragically young on October 1, 2001. Born on November 1, 2000, she was captive-born to parents Kessala and Mabeke at Centre de Recherches Médicales Franceville.

Her life was cut short during a release attempt at Projet Gorille Fernan-Vaz when she was abandoned by her mother Kessala during this process, leading to her death. The transfer records show she was at Centre de Recherches Médicales Franceville from November 1, 2000 until July 10, 2001.
