Claudia (Kafi)

Claudia, also known as Kafi, is a female Western Lowland Gorilla at Dublin Zoo. She was born on 2 August 2009 in the Allwetterzoo Münster, the daughter of Gana and N’kwango, both recorded in the European studbook.

After a brief period at her birth zoo, she moved to the Zoologisch‑Botanischer Garten Wilhelma in January 2010. A short stay at La Vallée des Singes followed in September 2010 before she returned to Wilhelma later that month. In August 2012 she was transferred to Dublin Zoo, where she has remained ever since.

Claudia is a captive‑born member of the European breeding program for Western Lowland Gorillas. Her presence supports education efforts and helps maintain genetic diversity within the managed population.
