Bwana

Bwana was born on 13 March 2007 at Natura Artis Magistra. He is a captive‑born Western Lowland Gorilla, the son of Binti and Akili. As of July 2026 he is 19 years old.

He spent the first seven years of his life at his birth institution. On 2 October 2014 he was transferred within the same facility, remaining there until his next move.

On 1 April 2025 Bwana moved to Zoo Z rich, where he has been living since. His presence adds valuable genetic diversity to the European captive population.
