BUR-14-01

BUR-14-01 was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on November 16, 2014. She lived for approximately six months, from her birth on May 21, 2014, until her death.

Born at Burgers’ Zoo, she was captive-born to parents Shatilla and Bauwi. She spent her entire brief life at Burgers’ Zoo.

Her death was caused by an enlarged heart. Though her life was tragically short, she remained part of the Western Lowland Gorilla breeding program during her time at the zoo.
