About Boumi
Boumi was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on August 19, 2011. He lived to 22 years of age.
Born on June 13, 1989, at Howletts Wild Animal Park, he was captive-born to parents Mouila and Bitam.
In March 1997, when he was nearly eight years old, Boumi transferred to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park. He spent the remaining fourteen years of his life there until his death in 2011.
