About Boulas
Boulas was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on June 3, 2014. He lived to 27 years of age.
Born at Howletts Wild Animal Park on July 13, 1986, he was captive-born to parents Mouila and Bitam.
Throughout his life, Boulas lived at several facilities across the UK. He spent his early years at Howletts Wild Animal Park until 1993, then moved to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park. Later transfers took him to Belfast Zoological Gardens in 2001, Twycross Zoo in 2010, and finally to Longleat Safari and Adventure Park in 2012, where he passed away from severe respiratory problems.
