Bokito

Bokito was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on April 4, 2023. He lived to 27 years of age.

Born at Zoologischer Garten Berlin on March 14, 1996, he was captive-born to parents Mpenzi and Derrik.

His life included moves between three facilities. After spending his early years at Berlin Zoo until August 2005, he briefly stayed at Hodenhagen Serengeti Park for less than a month. In September 2005, he transferred to Royal Rotterdam Zoological Gardens, where he lived for nearly eighteen years until his death during anesthesia.
