Bobby

Bobby was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on December 5, 2008. He lived to 25 years of age.

Born in Guinea on June 4, 1983, he was wild-caught rather than born in captivity. Both his parents were wild gorillas.

His life in zoos began at Roma Zoo in December 1992, where he spent nearly a decade until November 2001. He then moved to Bristol Zoo Gardens for two years before his final transfer to the Zoological Society of London in June 2003, where he remained until his death five years later.
