Bimvili

Bimvili was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on May 5, 1989. She lived to 24 years of age.

Born in Equatorial Guinea in 1965, she was wild-caught rather than born in captivity. Both her parents were wild gorillas.

Bimvili spent her captive years at Parc Zoològic de Barcelona, where she ultimately passed away from gastroenteritis. Her life represents the conservation challenges faced by Western Lowland Gorillas during the mid-to-late 20th century.
