Bianca

Bianca was a female Western Lowland Gorilla who died on November 8, 2018. She lived to 46 years of age.

Born in Cameroon on June 4, 1972, she was wild-caught as an infant. Both her parents were wild gorillas.

Her life in captivity began at Tierpark Berlin in 1973, where she spent nearly a decade before moving through several European institutions. She lived at Royal Rotterdam Zoological Gardens, Natura Artis Magistra, and returned to Tierpark Berlin before transferring to Loro Parque. In 1997, she moved to Tiergarten der Stadt Nürnberg, where she spent her final 21 years. She was euthanized due to age-related worsening health.
