About Batek
Batek is a male Western Lowland Gorilla living at Limbe Wildlife Centre. Born on October 1, 1999, he is now 25 years old.
Born in Cameroon to wild parents, Batek entered captivity as an infant. He spent nearly two years with a private owner in Batouri from August 2001 until March 2002.
Since March 8, 2002, he has made his home at Limbe Wildlife Centre. He has lived there for over two decades, becoming an established member of their gorilla community.
