Arti

Arti was a male Western Lowland Gorilla who died on May 14, 2000. He lived to 16 years of age.

Born at Royal Rotterdam Zoological Gardens on November 6, 1983, he was captive-born to parents Salome and Ernst.

Throughout his life, Arti lived at several institutions across Europe and Asia. He spent his early years at Royal Rotterdam Zoological Gardens until March 1987, then moved to Dublin Zoo for five years. After a brief stay at Wassenaar Zoo in 1992, he transferred to Singapore Zoo before settling at Zoo Hannover in October 1993, where he spent his final years until his death in 2000.
